Ginny Hordemann and New Hope Muligan MX MXJ MXF NAC NJC NCC CGC
5-28-08

I started taking lessons from Mary in April 2005 with Derby, a mixed breed shelter dog that needed a job. I loved agility, Mary, her yard, and the whole thing, but Derby didn't like it all that much.

In June of 2005 I retired from teaching and got a 6 week old Boston Terrier with agility as a training focus. I had researched breeds all year. With each lesson I took with Derby, I was learning things to apply to Muligan.

Derby and I took every session with Mary through May 2006 when I let Derby off the hook and started lessons with Muligan, who was one year old. Thanks to all of Mary's lessons, Muligan had a strong foundation and we moved quickly through the skills needed to compete in agility.

Our first competition was in an AKC event in Boise in October 2006. We only competed in Jumpers with Weaves because we hadn't yet mastered all the contact equipment. Muligan Q'd in 2 of 3 runs. Our first AKC standard and JWW competition was in Moscow, in the Kibbie Dome in March 2007.  We were in Novice A and she got 3 high in class big beautiful ribbons. I think that weekend I was totally hooked on agility. She got her AX in July 2007 and is now earning MACH points, just 10 months after starting to compete. What a ride! Thank you, Mary.

By November, 2007, Muligan was ranked in the top 5 Boston Terriers in the country.

On Jan 13, 2008, Muligan earned her MXJ title in Farmington Utah at the Group IV Terrier Club Agility Trial.  They had yet another great weekend.

By May, 2008, Ginny and Muligan earned their Masters FAST title.  This is the new AKC class that allows you to select your own course while accumulating points.  Then there is a challenge where you have to send your dog out away from you to perform a series of obstacles with you at a far distance.  Ginny is the second owner in the state of Idaho to earn this MXF title for all breeds.  And Muligan is the third Boston in the country to earn this title.

Ginny and Muligan qualified to compete in this year's AKC Invitational!  To get invited, Muligan had to be among the top 5 Boston Terriers in the country earning speed points at the highest level, excellent, in AKC agility during the year ending on June 29, 2008.  Muligan is just 3 years old so Ginny has done a terrific job and they are undeniably an outstanding team!
